Phase 45: first constrained Q optimization step¶
This phase turns the validated 45-coordinate Jacobian into a genuine geometry update. It maximizes the first-order total quality factor while projecting out first-order resonance-frequency motion. The physical step is limited by an L2 trust region and affine fabrication constraints:
- 20 nm longitudinal silicon ligament between neighboring holes;
- 50 nm transverse sidewall ligament;
- 40 nm minimum longitudinal and transverse hole radii.
run_phase45_q_optimization.py obtains the baseline gradient from the
validated Phase-41 checkpoint, proposes a conservative step, independently
re-solves the corrected complex pole, and then evaluates the full unified
Q/mode-volume/feed-coupling state at the accepted geometry.
