Final 12-front curved-mirror beta campaign#

Frozen qualified success

The campaign was stopped on 23 August 2026 after 795 LDOS updates and 294 beta updates. The paired controls, literal geometry, field, complete history, and optimizer state are preserved in the qualified-success artifact.

This campaign began from the analytic 12-front-per-side curved-mirror midpoint. A 2-D mask was extruded through a 200 nm silicon slab embedded in SiO2. The original 1 µm-wide central vacuum strip, terminal guides, and three Cartesian symmetry planes were hard constraints throughout. The full 420 × 196 × 128 Yee grid was solved as a 210 × 98 × 64 octant.

The bounded beta improved from 0.0227704 to 0.531314, a factor of 23.3. The LDOS was intentionally not protected during this phase: the score was log(beta) plus only a mode/flux consistency penalty. The final LDOS near one therefore reflects the requested willingness to suppress emission while improving routing.

Beginning and ending geometry#

Analytic twelve-front warm start beside the final exact-binary beta design

The displayed mask is the literal forward geometry, not a continuous control heatmap. The red lines mark the former hard vacuum strip and the atom remains at the origin.#

Complete optimization history#

LDOS history followed by beta and common-surface channel histories

The beta phase reports both the objective and every mutually exclusive loss channel. No sample can exceed 100% because modal power is reconciled with the same enclosing flux surface on every evaluation.#

Final electric field#

Frozen pole audit#

Independent source-work LDOS spectrum retained from the discovery phase

The independent source-work spectrum is retained as a diagnostic. It was not silently substituted for the beta objective.#

Reproducibility record#

The immutable archive is benchmarks/artifacts/invdes_curved_mirror_beta_twelve_front_v1.qualified_success_20260823.npz. It contains the evaluated and proposed controls separately, Adam moments and age, robust-threshold cursor, current/best literal densities, final field, all channel powers and fractions, LDOS telemetry, port effective index, and the complete JSON history. The preceding LDOS phase remains independently archived rather than being folded into the beta artifact.
